Check in, complete a quick health screening and get comfortable while you donate. Your first donation will take approximately 3 to 4 hours and includes registration, eligibility screening, a physical exam and your donation. Future visits will typically take 1 to 1.5 hours.

How long will my first PlasmaSource donation take?
Your first donation will take approximately 3 to 4 hours and includes registration, eligibility screening, a physical exam and your donation. Future visits will be much quicker, around 1 to 1.5 hours.
How often can I donate at PlasmaSource?
Qualified donors can donate plasma up to twice in a seven-day period, with at least 48 hours between donations. Platelet donors can give once every 7 days, up to 24 times a year.
How do I know if I’m eligible?
Most donors are eligible if they:
- Are 18 to 69 years old
- Note: Donors over 69 may be eligible with additional medical review.
- Weigh at least 110 pounds
- Are in good general health
- Live within the center’s designated donor recruitment area, about a 50-mile radius from the Elyria and North Canton centers.
- Meet PlasmaSource’s medical and health screening requirements
How should I prepare for my donation?
Get plenty of rest, stay hydrated, and eat a healthy, protein-and iron-rich meal before your appointment. Taking care of yourself beforehand can help you have a smoother donation experience.
